Basic MakeUp

Whether you're just starting to wear makeup or you already do, there are few basics that will get you a flawless "natural" Look. That'll be achieved by
 the application of following properly

  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Eyeliner
  • Blush
Things to do Before Applying Foundation:
-Wash your face to make sure it's clean of oils and any makeup from the previous night

- Use Moisturizer! I can't stress this enough especially if you have a dry skin like me. Using a moisturizer can make a difference in the final outcome of the foundation texture on your face. Wait for your moisturizer to "dry".

Foundation application
In case it's a liquid foundation, pump some onto top of your hand and with use the tips of your finger to apply some foundation onto you Forehead, Cheeks, tip of your Nose and Chin. Using your brush, blend in the dots in a circular motion. Pay special attention to your hairline and jawline, many women put foundation onto your face but they forget to put blend onto their neck as well as you can see a visible difference between the color of their neck and their face.

If it's a liquid foundation then use the liquid foundation brush! It looks something like the picture to the right.

However if you're using powder based Foundation then you want to use Powder Brush.

Concealer
 application
Apply concealer to camouflage imperfections. Apply them to your blemishes if you have any. Apply it under your eyes to conceal dark circles dark circles. General rule is, apply concealer to the corners of your nose since that area is generally "darker" and onto your nose and forehead in shape of T. It'll give you a slight Glow. Look at the Face chart i created below. It should be helpful.

I'll write about mascara, blush and Eyeliner in the next post.

Cleaning MakeUp Brushes

Since I just put up a post about brushes, it seemed suitable to talk about cleaning them as well! I find it that most people overlook cleaning their brushes. By cleaning your brushes, you're avoiding the accumulation of the following:
  • Old Makeup
  • Debris & Dirt
  • Dead Skin Cells
  • Bacteria and Oil
Another benefit you get from cleaning you brush is maintaining the softness of the brush. If you pay for
quality, then you need to take care of it to get most out of it!

How to Clean your Brushes?
I prefer buying Brush cleaner. I use Sephora's brush cleaner, it does the job and its also cheap! What I usually do is , I fold tissue into a square and place the brush on it. I spray the brush to saturate it with the cleaner and then i (gently) swirl the brush on the tissue! That way you get rid of excess make up & clean your brush gently.

If you don't want to buy a Brush cleaner then you can use baby shampoo. First, Saturate your brush with water, then put some baby shampoo on a sponge and swirl your brush onto the sponge. Afterwords rinse your brush in luke warm water. Make sure you get all the shampoo out!

Once you're done cleaning, Leave the brush to dry on it's own. I once tried to dry it by a hair dryer and that didn't end well! So you've been warned.

How often should i clean my brush?
Depends how often you use it. If it's an eyeshadow brush, then i recommend cleaning it right after you're done using it. Especially if it's the eyeliner brush. You don't want the liquid/gel to dry out on the brush. It'll be extra work trying to get it off once it's dried. Rule of thumb, clean them Every Week or Every Other Week.

MakeUp Brushes

I believe this is a topic that everyone should be informed about! There are so many different makeup brushes out there but there are a basic few that every girl should have in her makeup bag. The first makeup brushes i had came in a set that I bought from Sephora. I believe in investing in quality brushes. You can either start small by buying each brush separately or purchase them as a set. However, Purchasing a set will come out cheaper. This is a small introduction to these brushes..

So this is what my set of brushes look like. This specific set is called Deluxe Antibacterial Brush Set, its a seven piece brush set. I'll be discussing each from left to right.

1. Powder Brush:
This is a Brush to apply Powder and mineral foundation evenly. This brush is large with dense, soft bristles. It can also be used to set Translucent powder and Bronzer as well.

2. Foundation Brush :
This Brush is used to apply Liquid foundation.

3. Angled Eyeshadow Brush:
It's used for applying eyeshadow in corner, crease or all over the lid. it's also used for blending.

4. Eye Blender Brush:
Used to Blend!

5. Concealer brush:
This is a corrective brush, everyone's favorite! It's used to conceal and hide blemishes, discoloration and mask any imperfections.

6.Lip/Eye-liner Brush
Can be used to get define lips or perhaps Bigger or smaller lips.(I'll follow this up with a post later)
However, this is usually used as an eyeliner brush to apply gel/liquid liners. This specific brush is quite thin so you can achieve the thinnest line!

7.Brow Brush/Lash Comb
This is self explanatory haha, used to brush your brows and comb your lashes! Sometimes, When I apply mascara, my lashes stick to each other. I "brush" my lashes to separate them!

I'm adding another Brush to the List, it's one of my favorite and it's an absolute must have, It's the Kabuki Brush. It helps you have even application while using less product! It's used to apply dry, powder based makeup. I use it to put on my Bronzer and occasionally my Blush. It gives such a nice soft natural look.
This how it looks

If you have any questions, go ahead and ask! I'd love to answer.

Food For Your Face

One thing that I ALWAYS have in my fridge is yogurt. It's Full of protein, enzyme and zinc ; it's good for digestion and also skin! Did you know yogurt helps soothe burned skin, act as exfoliator while helping maintain a balance skin pH? Best of it all, It works for all skin types!

How to:
Put some yogurt into a small bowl,  stir the yogurt and then put it on your face (Make sure your face is clean beforehand). It's as easy as that! Leave it until it dries out. That'll usually be around 15 minutes then wash up your face. You'll notice your face feeling smoother right away. And if you just put yogurt on blemishes then you'll notice the redness going down. Its a cooling mask!

Tip:
If your skin is super dry then add runny honey to the mix! It'll double the moisture. However, if your skin is oily then add few drops of lime juice.

I'll be posting more soon.
